About Me
I am an Assistant Professor at the Department of Construction Management and Engineering, University of Twente contribute to education, research and project in the field of Sustainability and Circularity in Civil Infrastructure. My research focused on circular economy, environmental and economic sustainability, life cycle thinking, life cycle assessment, life cycle costing, carbon footprint of construction materials, healthier indoor environment, bio-insulation as alternative building materials. bio-insulation, rice husk ash as an alternative to building materials, energy management.
Past Experiences:
Before joining UT, I worked a consulting company in France as Project Manage in LCA that enabled me to take a holistic and whole-building approach in the healthier indoor environment which is the European union funded project H-House. I have developed the life cycle inventory and evaluate the impact of indoor emissions on human health from buildings components. I have also developed the life cycle inventory of the textile, which is another European union project.
I hold a PhD degree on Sustainability Assessment of Building System in Himalayan Region from University of Padova, Italy. During my PhD research, I had the opportunity to work at the Institute for Environmental Management and Land-use Planning from the Universté Libre de Bruxelles (ULB), Belgium and at the Department of Development and Planning from Aalborg University, Denmark. The main aim of the study was to assess the environmental and economic assessment of buildings from a life-cycle perspective starting from the extraction of raw materials, manufacturing, production, use and maintenance and the final disposal. Furthermore, research on the alternative bio-insulation made of local and recycling materials and different energy-related activities and identifies key behaviors to reduce the energy consumption and GHG emissions household behavior changes were performed.
I have worked as Research Associate at Centre for Excellence in Production of Electrical Energy (CEPTE), Kathmandu University on Environment and Energy management of Building sector.
