Abhinav Gandhi is a postdoctoral fellow at the Surgical Robotics Laboratory, University of Twente(Enschede, Netherlands), where he conducts research on novel control methods and applications for magnetically actuated microrobots. He earned his Ph.D. in Robotics Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute (Massachusetts, USA), where his work focused on whole-body shape control of soft continuum robots using purely visual cues. His research interests span vision-based control, manipulation, soft robotics, and fusing robot learning with existing model-based techniques. His hobbies outside the lab include backpacking, sailing, and visiting contemporary art museums.
