Welcome...

A.J. Scheerder (Anique)

PhD Candidate

About Me

Anique graduated as Master of Science in Communication Science with specialization in Corporate and Organizational Communication. After obtaining her Master’s degree, Anique started as junior teacher in academic skills and text design. Besides, she coordinated the module Communication channels and media use, in which she was responsible for teaching several courses.

Meanwhile, Anique works as a PhD candidate within a 3-year Tech4People project, which is about the digital divide and specifically about the influence of Internet use on (the reinforcement of) social inequalities. The focus within that context is on the social processes that underlie those differences, mainly within the home context (families) and the corresponding social network. Traditional digital divide indicators such as age, gender and educational level will still be taken into account within this project, but the social processes that take place within the studied entities occupy a central position.
