About Me
The course 'Oriental Dance' is taught by me. At age 22 I took a similar cultural course at University myself. Now, many years later, I would like to transfer to my dance students from University, man and woman, the same joy of bellydancing.
At the age of six I have started dancing. I danced ballet for seven years, of which two years as part of a production group. After those years, I looked for a more expressive earthly way of dancing and started jazz dance, folk dance and social dance, which I practiced for years. After the cultural course oriental dance at the TU Delft, I successfully auditioned for showgroups (Mirage by Anusch Alawerdian, Leiden. And Sukara by Sylvia de Rochemont, Zaandam). In 2006 I started teaching at the oriental dance school of Anusch Alawerdian. The year after, I started my own classes in Delft. Then came work and motherhood. In 2019 I have picked up where I left off and I started to teach bellydance in Enschede. I enjoy how oriental dance provides me a rich and expressive movement vocabulary, embracing my body the way it is.
