Celeste P.M. Wilderom is a Ph.D.-holder in Psychology, State Universi­ty of New York (USA, 1987), and full professor in Change Management & Organizational Behaviour (International) Business Administration: University Twente, Enschede, the Netherlands. Her research focuses on leader-behavioural determinants of highly effective organizations, teams and (high-tech) employees, change (incl. OD) and work cultures/climates. She prefers to conduct field studies in which use is made of longitudinal surveys and also of video-based behavioural and physiological observations. Often, quantitative and qualitative data are being combined as well.

So far, Celeste has ‘delivered’ 40 doctorates (or PhD thesen, as well as many MSc & BSc theses); one of her PhD students received the ‘Best Dissertation’ award: US Academy of Management, Public-Sector Division. Another PhD student of her received, in 2010, the annual Best Dissertation award of the International Leadership Association. In 2015, the paper she co-authored with dr. Desiree van Dun, won the Best-paper award of the Operations-Management division of the US Academy of Management. In 2020, two cum-laude theses won EFDM prizes for that year’s best PhD theses. To date, four of her ex-PhD students received cum laude PhD doctorates; many but not all current PhD students are part-time students.
