E.M.A. Frederix MSc (Edo)

About Me

Edo Frederix is a Phd student in the group of Multiscale Modeling and Simulation in the Department of Applied Mathematics at University of Twente. 

He finished his Masters at the faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Eindhoven University of Technology, in September 2012. Edo's Master Thesis covered the topic of direct numerical simulation of particle-laden turbulent pipe flow. This theme relates closely to that of his PhD research: multiscale modeling and simulations of aerosol nucleation and transport in porous media. The PhD project, being sponsored by Philip Morris International, is concerned with developing an understanding of the complex mechanism that play a role in thermally-activated tobacco plugs. Based on first principles, a prediction may be posed regarding multi-species aerosol generation and evolution throughout a realistically modelled porous domain.
