Recently Edwin joined the sustainable process technology group of Twente university (the Netherlands) and holds the new chair on process systems engineering! With this return he will revive process systems engineering as educational and research discipline in the Netherlands!

My group researches the energy transition, specifically on topics that regard the transformation to a hydrogen economy, biobased production, carbon capture and utilization and electrochemical storage of energy. In these application areas we develop models, control and optimization strategies to design unit, plant and supply chain in such way that maximum flexibility and the best trade-offs between conflicting objectives are obtained.
