J. Hoedemaekers MSc (Janneke)

Janneke Hoedemaekers is a Business Director Strategic Partnerships and R&D collaboration at the University of Twente (UT). The Impact Development (ID) team that she leads, develops impact driven multidisciplinary multi stakeholder programs, connecting the expertise of the UT research community to corporates and other stakeholders. Moreover, this team is account holder for the UT corporate partnerships. Janneke is part of the management team of the Strategic Business Development (SBD) department that facilitates researchers in building collaborations from idea to execution.

From 2014-2019, Janneke was Managing Director of the MESA+ Institute for Nanotechnology and NanoLab of the University of Twente and director of High Tech Fund, an equipment lease fund for startup/SME companies in high tech systems and materials.

Janneke has a degree in Applied Physics and Philosophy of Science, Technology and Society. She is passionate about accelerating the development of new technologies and the complex path towards adoption into society.

Earlier in her career, she worked for the Amsterdam Economic Board and as advisor and national contact point for the European Commission’s research and innovation program (FP7/ Horizon2020) at RVO (executive agency of the Dutch ministry of Economic affairs), responsible for the themes Nanotechnology, Advanced Materials and Production technologies (NMP) and the participation of small and medium-sized enterprises. Previously she worked for the Netherlands Office for Science and Technology in San Francisco (USA) connecting research & innovation activities in nanotechnology. (full CV on LinkedIn)

Janneke is involved in several R&D review and advisory boards, for example at the European Commission SME Accelerator as jury expert and the Eureka Clusters PENTA/ITEA.
