Janneke Hoedemaekers is a Business Director Strategic Partnerships and R&D collaboration at the University of Twente (UT). She develops impact driven multidisciplinary programs, connecting the expertise of the UT research community to corporates and other stakeholders and is part of the management team of the Strategic Business Development (SBD) department that facilitates researchers in building collaborations from idea to execution.
From 2014-2019, Janneke was Managing Director of the MESA+ Institute for Nanotechnology and NanoLab of the University of Twente and director of High Tech Fund, an equipment lease fund for startup/SME companies in high tech systems and materials.
Janneke has a degree in Applied Physics and Philosophy of Science, Technology and Society. She is passionate about accelerating the development of new technologies and the complex path towards adoption into society.
Earlier in her career, she worked for the Amsterdam Economic Board and as advisor and national contact point for the European Commission’s research and innovation program (FP7/ Horizon2020) at RVO (executive agency of the Dutch ministry of Economic affairs), responsible for the themes Nanotechnology, Advanced Materials and Production technologies (NMP) and the participation of small and medium-sized enterprises.
