K.O. Asiama MSc (Kwabena)

About Me

Kwabena Asiama is currently a PhD candidate at the Dept. of Urban and Regional Planning and Geo-Information Management at ITC, University of Twente. His research focuses on developing a responsible land consolidation approach for customary lands based on innovative approaches to land administration. 
He acquired his Bachelor of Science in Land Economy from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Ghana in 2012. He then undertook his one year compulsory national service working with the Land Access Department of Newmont Ghana Gold Ltd, that handled land acquisitions, compensation negotiation and payment, and community relations. In 2015, he graduated with an MSc. from ITC, specializing in land administration. In the same year, he joined ITC as a PhD candidate.

Kwabena’s background includes land valuation (with a focus on large-scale land acquisitions and compensation), land governance, and innovation approaches to land administration.
