About Me
I have graduated from the University of Utrecht with a bachelor's degree in Biomedical Sciences. For my graduation project I have performed a so-called enlarged research project about the influences of different anti-malarial medicines on P. falciparium malaria anemia. I have conducted my research during a laboratorial internship at the department of Pharmacological and Biomedical Sciences at the University of Milano-Bicocca, Milan Italy.
Subsequently I have decided to start with the master Health Sciences with a specialization in eHealth. During my graduation I have chosen to perform my research project for the Centre for eHealth and Wellbeing Research mainly because of my great interest in antibiotic resistance. During this project the first steps of the CeHRes roadmap were performed in order to start the development process for a future eHealth technology to prevent surgical site infections.
Currently I am working as a junior researcher for the department Psychology, Health and Technology at the Centre for eHealth and Wellbeing Research. I am working on a platform for zoonotic diseases. This includes the development of an interactive serious game to support risk-communication and cooperation between healthcare providers in humane, veterinary and public healthcare with regards to decision making during a zoonotic outbreak. Furthermore, it includes the development of a Q&A system for both healthcare providers and the general public also in the field of zoonotic diseases.
