Marcin Sęk was born in Łódź, Poland on the 3rd of September 1992. He obtained his bachelor’s degree in the chemistry of building materials from The Lodz University of Technology, Łódź in 2015. He was involved in a project with Cemex Research Group Switzerland, focused on plasma modification of polymeric fibres for fibre reinforced concrete. He received his master’s degree in polymer technology from The Lodz University of Technology, Łódź in 2016. His master’s thesis was about halloysite-ionic liquids rubber composites. He joined the ETE group, the University of Twente in May 2018 as a PDEng student on a contract between The University of Twente and the Apollo Vredestein Company. He obtained his degree in the subject ‘Future cure technology’ in 2020. He is currently a member of the ETE group working on his PhD on the topic ‘Velcro-inspired silica-rubber coupling’
