About Me

I graduated from Sharif University of Technology in Iran with a master's degree in materials science and engineering, in 2013. The topic of my thesis was morphological manipulation of photoanode electrode in dye sensitized solar cells. Currently I am doing a PhD in PhotoCatalytic Synthesis Group, working on electrochemical reduction of carbon dioxide.

Research

Electrochemical reduction of CO2 has been investigated at a variety of metallic electrodes.  Among the metal electrodes, copper is the most extensively studied since it is the only metal capable of producing hydrocarbons from CO2 with reasonable faradaic efficiencies in aqueous solutions at ambient temperature and pressure. 

We will provide insights into the performance of the produced Cu catalysts using Gas chromatography. In addition, we try to observe reaction products as well as the intermediates on the electrocatalyst surface via in situ electrochemical ATR-FTIR spectroscopy. Furthermore, we try to combine the optimized electrode with a new reactor configuration to achieve higher productivity.
