As a PhD candidate at WUR (ABE group) and University of Twente (Pervasive system group) I am fully dedicated to developing sensors technology and models to improve the health and welfare of young animals. Drawing from my Master of Science degree in Animal Nutrition and Feed Safety, as well as my engineering degree in Livestock Production, I bring a unique and well-rounded perspective to my work. I am deeply passionate about exploring innovative solutions to enhance animal welfare and contributing to the sustainable development of farming. Through my research, I am committed to making meaningful and lasting contributions to the field of animal science and advancing the health monitoring of animals.

Ensuring healthy young calves is crucial for sustainable dairy production, but monitoring them on large farms poses challenges due to limited time and accuracy issues. Existing Precision Livestock Farming (PLF) technologies primarily cater to adult cows, leaving a gap in calf health monitoring. This project aims to revolutionize PLF by developing a real-time monitoring system for calves. Our system captures, processes, and analyzes sensor data on vital signs (heart rate, respiration, etc.) and behavior.
