Assistant Professor

About Me

I work at ELAN, the department of teacher development. My research is focused on data use, instructional decision making, and differentiated instruction. The MATCH-project was aimed at understanding and improving differentiation in primary school mathematics. Based on the 4CID-model, we designed an intervention to improve primary school teachers' differentiation skills. Also, we developed and studied an instrument to Assess Differentiation in All Phases of Teaching: ADAPT. Next to an extensive manual, we developed an online learning environment where teachers, students and others can learn how to use this instrument. Currently, I am involved in a large national project around previously acquired competencies in university teacher education, a study into the development of teaching quality of beginning teachers, and a project about differentiated instruction in special education.

Furthermore, I am a member of the program committe for EST and for the teacher training program. I am one of the EST graduation coordinators, I supervise students in their final projects, and I coordinate and provide EST master courses '4CID for complex learning' and 'Teacher learning and development'. In our Teacher Training program, I am involved in General Didactics.
