About Me
Rounak was born in West Bengal, India on 1994. He obtained his Bachelor of Technology in Jute and Fibre Technology from University of Calcutta in 2016. He performed his In-plant training in weaving department of Oswal Denim Pvt. Limited. His B.Tech thesis was on the topic “Studies on tensile properties of cross-laid needle punched non-woven polyester fabric”. He worked in Welspun India Limited as an engineer in terry towel weaving production. He completed his Master of Technology from Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur in 2019. He was awarded DAAD scholarship and completed his master’s thesis with joint collaboration with RWTH Aachen University on "Preparation and properties of ultrasonically solidified bio-based hybrid tapes". He started working at the ETE group, University of Twente as PDEng trainee in June, 2019. In 2021, he graduated with Professional Doctorate in Engineering on “Devulcanization of Natural Rubber in Twin Screw Extruder” in collaboration with Rubber Green Industries, Frameries, Belgium. He is presently working as a researcher with Evonik Industries on "Improvement of the devulcanizate of ground whole tire rubber by optimization with functional additives".
