Ramses A. Wessel is Professor of International and European Law and Governance and Co-Director of the Centre for European Studies at the University of Twente, The Netherlands. He is former Vice Rector (Dean of Educational Innovation) of the University and former Dean of the School of Management and Governance. His additional functions include: Member of the standing Advisory Committee on Issues of Public International Law (CAVV) of the Netherlands’ government; Member of the Governing Board of the Centre for the Law of EU External Relations (CLEER) in The Hague; Editor-in-Chief and founder of the International Organizations Law Review and of the Netherlands Yearbook of International Law; Editor of European Papers and of Nijhoff Studies in European Union Law and member of the Editorial Board of the CLEER Papers series and of Europe and the World. Ramses is a well-known specialist in international and European law and governance and a prolific writer of over 200 academic publications. He is frequently invited as a (key-note) speaker at international conferences and seminars. He was invited as a guest professor all over Europe, including the Universidad Pablo de Olavide/Universidad Internacional de Andalucía, Sevilla, Sapienza Università di Roma, Università LUISS Guido Carli, Rome, University of Leiden, European Law Academy/ERA and the European University Institute, Florence.
