S.R. van Loo MSc (Bas)

About Me

Bas van Loo studied Biomedical Engineering at the University of Twente with a specialization in Bionanotechnology and Advanced Biomanufacturing. For his internship he worked on recombinant peptide hydrogel formulations at FUJIFILM Manufacturing B.V. in Tilburg, after which he graduated in 2018 on the topic of cell shrinkage induced molecular crowding in engineered microtissues at the department of Developmental BioEngineering at the University of Twente. In April 2018 he started his PhD at the University of Twente in the Develomental BioEngineering group of prof. dr. Marcel Karperien under the supervision of dr. J.C.H. Leijten. His current research focuses on injectable hollow microgels for improved cartilage repair.
