dr. S. Sahin (Sevil)

Sevil Sahin received her BSc degree from the Department of Chemistry at Istanbul Technical University, and her MSc degree from the Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry at Istanbul University, Turkey. During her MSc research, she synthesized porphyrin derivatives for photodynamic therapy. In 2022, she completed her PhD in the Laboratory of Organic Chemistry at Wageningen University, the Netherlands. Her doctoral studies focused on the use of polyelectrolyte multilayers for tuning ion selectivity for desalination of water. Currently, she is working as a post-doctoral researcher at the Department of Molecular Nanofabrication at University of Twente. Her current research includes, among others, using surface-bound polyelectrolytes for the detection of bio-molecules.
