Usama is a PhD candidate at the Department of Design, Production, and Management (DPM). His research interests focus on Integrating Systems Engineering and Human factors principles and related methodologies for complex design environments. In his doctoral research, he is investigating how systems engineering and human factors can improve communication among transdisciplinary teams. Usama has been awarded a prestigious scholarship by Higher Education Commission, Pakistan for his doctoral research at University of Twente.
Usama holds a master's degree in Systems Engineering with a specialization in Autonomous Aerospace Systems from the National University of Sciences and Technology, Islamabad.
