The doctoral research of Wouter Vollenbroek focuses on the development of Virtual Communities of Practice (VCoPs) as an online venue for knowledge sharing, collaboration and relationship management within intra- and inter-organizational networks. The main reason for this research is the increasing trend of network collaboration within and between organizations in the field of research and development. During the doctoral research, the underlying factors will be determined that affect the development and success of such online network collaborations, which enables the monitoring and optimization of communication processes within and between organizational networks.
