Guus Meershoek is lecturer in Public Administration, focusing on Safety Governance at the University of Twente and researcher and lecturer in Police Integrity and Police History at the Dutch Police Academy. His lectures and research focus on modern policing, ICT in public safety governance, police integrity and the history of the Dutch police. A special topic is the persecution and destruction of the Dutch Jews during the German occupation. He has published amongst others Waakzaam in Amsterdam (2011, with P. de Rooy); Bestuurlijke focus en sociale weerbaarheid bij de georganiseerde-misdaadbestrijding [Administrative focus and social resilience in organised crime control] (2018); Zorg om politiele integriteit (2020, with A. Smit & N. Slagmolen) and Het politievraagstuk in en na Corona (2021). Two video's about Dutch policing can be found on you tube, entitled Terug naar de burgers (Back to the citizens) and Integriteit onder druk (Integrity in trouble), both as well in an English version.
