Member of the Pervasive Systems group of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mathematics and Computer Science (EEMCS) of the University of Twente, lecturing at the Creative Technologies BSc programme of the university. Research focusing on multi-modal contextual deep learning, bringing together field and remote sensing for scaling up environmental observation.

Research

Latest research focusing on multi-modal contextual deep learning, bringing together field and remote sensing for scaling up environmental observation. Research expertise in Data Visualizations, Internet and Web of Things, with applications in various smart-* environments (houses, buildings, cities and agriculture). A growing experience in geo-vision, i.e. remote sensing, GIS and computer vision (mostly via deep learning).
