AnnSofie Micallef-Nilsson (Fia) is a PhD candidate in the SYNERGY project at the University of Twente, where she works on the behavioral dynamics of the energy transition. Before joining the University of Twente, she worked as a Research Assistant at the Lund University Centre for Sustainability Studies (LUCSUS), where she contributed to the WaterWarmth project on aquathermal energy. She has also been involved in research projects at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences. 

Fia holds a Master of Science in Environmental Science from the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU) in Uppsala, Sweden, and an additional Master of Science in Environmental Management from the University of Hohenheim in Stuttgart, Germany. Her previous work has focused on sustainability from a multidisciplinary perspective. She has a particular interest in sustainable transformation and bridging environmental research with real-world implementation.
