Ahmad Waseem is a Guest Researcher at the University of Twente and a PhD candidate jointly enrolled at the University of Pisa and the University of Sassari, Italy. His research lies at the intersection of computer vision and biometrics, with a strong focus on attention modeling in deep learning systems. He received his Bachelor’s degree from FAST National University (FAST-NUCES), Pakistan in 2016 and completed his Master’s degree at Tianjin University, China, specializing in image processing and computer vision. 

His current work investigates the relationship between human visual attention and machine attention mechanisms, particularly in Vision Transformers, aiming to advance interpretable and human-aligned AI systems.
