Amalia is currently pursuing a doctorate degree at the University of Twente under the ANRGI project. Her research focuses on the collaborative creation for the development and adoption of technological innovations in the field of energy access in Indonesia.

Amalia received her B.Sc. in Statistics from the Institute of Technology Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) in Indonesia in 2005. She received her first M.Sc. in Energy and Environmental Management from the University of Twente in 2011. She then earned her second M.Sc. in Sustainable Development from Leipzig University in Germany in 2021, with a mobility semester at the University of Graz in Austria. Sustainability sciences, social science, technology and innovation management, and rural development studies are among her areas of study.

Amalia has more than ten years of working experience. She previously worked as a Fuel Subsidy Analyst at the Indonesian Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, an Energy Efficiency Analyst at the Clinton Foundation, and a Renewable Energy Advisor at the German Agency for International Cooperation, where she managed the Energising Development project in Indonesia.
