Bilgenur Erdogan started her PhD in Operations, Planning, Accounting & Control at Eindhoven University of Technology as part of the Green Transport Delta – Electrification project. Her doctoral research focuses on integrated scheduling and decision-making in manufacturing systems, with particular emphasis on optimization, simulation, autonomous systems, and algorithm development. During her PhD, she collaborated closely with industrial partners, including VDL Nedcar and VDL Steelweld, gaining extensive experience in applied research, computational modelling, and stakeholder collaboration.
Since September 2026, Bilgenur has been working as a Postdoctoral Researcher in Health Technology and Services Research at the University of Twente. Her current research focuses on quantitative methods for Health Technology Assessment and healthcare decision-making. She contributes to projects on sustainable cardiac care and the valuation of scarce human resources in healthcare, combining methods such as discrete-event simulation, multi-criteria decision analysis, life cycle assessment, data envelopment analysis, and economic evaluation. Through this work, she applies her background in operations research and computational modelling to support more sustainable, efficient, and evidence-based healthcare decisions.
