Bert Geerdink (1961, Enschede) studied Chemistry at the University of Professional Education in Hengelo now located in Enschede. After graduation he became a permanent member of the Inorganic Chemistry and Materials group; Prof. Gellings, doing research on corrosion topics from July 1985 till September 1992.

His activities were expanded, from September 1992 till 1995, to include material science and catalysis.

Since 1995 his activities focused completely on material science in catalysis as he formally joined the group Catalytic Processes and Materials; Prof Lefferts (till 1998 Prof. Lercher).

He has a key function in the development of scientific and/or electronic instruments, supports technically Ph.D.'s, PostDoc’s and graduate students, is responsible for maintenance of group facilities and looks after financial budgets and all computer-related issues.
