Boi is a PhD student in both the Precision Engineering group (ET) and the Robotics and Mechatronics group (EEMCS) working on the FlexCRAFT project. He holds a master's and bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Twente. His specilization is in Robotics and Mechatronics. Boi's research deals with the ongoing challenges of existing actuators and grippers in the packaging and processing industry.

In general, Boi's research interests are wide, ranging from control systems and embedded software, to flexure mechanisms and non-linear series elastic actuators.
