Bengü Getiren Sevinç is a chemical engineer and Postdoctoral Researcher at the Power Electronics & EMC Group, University of Twente. She is involved in the EU-funded MetSuperCap project, where her work focuses on advanced metrology for supercapacitors and the development of reliable and traceable measurement standards for energy storage technologies. Her postdoctoral research builds on a strong academic background and extensive experience in electrochemical energy storage and nanomaterial design.

She received her PhD in Chemical Engineering from Ankara University in 2025. Her doctoral thesis focused on the synthesis and electrochemical performance of heteroatom-doped graphene quantum dot-based nanocomposites, aiming to develop hybrid electrode systems that combine graphene-based nanomaterials, conducting polymers, and metal oxides to achieve improved capacitance, energy density, and cycle life. In parallel with her PhD studies, she worked as a Research and Teaching Assistant at Izmir Institute of Technology (2022–2025), where she contributed to undergraduate education, exam preparation, and laboratory courses.

Before her doctorate, she completed her Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering at Ankara University in 2020. This period allowed her to gain valuable experience with different nanomaterial systems and characterization techniques, providing a strong foundation for her doctoral research. She also obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from the same university in 2016, graduating with honors.

Her research expertise includes the synthesis and characterization of graphene-based materials, conducting polymers, and metal oxides, as well as their integration into advanced energy storage systems. She has extensive experience with electrochemical techniques such as Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS), Cyclic Voltammetry (CV), and Galvanostatic Charge–Discharge (GCD), alongside structural and morphological analyses. Her broader research interests cover electrochemical energy storage, sustainable electrode materials, nanomaterial synthesis, and the development of reliable methodologies for supercapacitor characterization.
