Stans Drossaert studied Health Promotion at the University of Maastricht. She wrote her PhD-thesis on “Psychosocial aspects of participating in breast cancer screening” and is currently working as an Associate Professor in (health-) psychology.

Her research interests are in the field of patient participation and patient empowerment. Central in her work is the question: ‘How can we equip patients and healthy persons with adequate information, skills or tools, to facilitate their active involvement in the management of their disease or to improve their physical or mental health?”. Drossaert is especially interested in the role of (internet-)technology herein.

Research profiles

Stans Drossaert is involved as a lecturer in the Bachelor Psychology and in the Mastertrack Health Psychology. She is coördinator of the mastertrack 'Health Psychology' and is involved in the following courses:
