Welcome...

dr.ir. E. Shirazi (Elham)

Assistant Professor

About Me

Elham Shirazi (Eli Shirazi) got her PhD in Electrical Engineering with a focus on smart grids control. Her thesis is entitled: "Self-Healing of Smart Distribution Networks with PV Penetration by Distributed Control". She joined the University of Twente in 2021 after completing her postdoctoral research at the Electrical Engineering Department of Katholieke Universiteit Leuven in Belgium. She also worked at the Energy department of IMEC, Belgium. Her research is multidisciplinary, with a focus on electrical grids control.

Her research interests are:

  • Modelling and control of electrical grids
  • Grid integration of renewable energies with a focus on PV
  • Model-driven optimization of buildings and districts energy systems
  • Physics-based and AI-based PV generation forecast
  • Energy System Integration

She is open to collaborating with internal and external researchers, just drop her an email at e.shirazi@utwente.nl to discuss any collaboration opportunity!

(Currently, there are some interesting projects in my group regarding sustainable energy systems, please feel free to send me an email)
