Welcome...

dr.ir. E. Shirazi (Eli)

Assistant Professor

About Me

Eli Shirazi (Elham Shirazi) got her PhD in Electrical Engineering with focus on smart grids. She joined University of Twente after completing her postdoctoral research at Electrical Engineering Department of Katholieke Universiteit Leuven in Belgium. She also worked at Energy department of IMEC, Belgium. Her research is multidisciplinary, with a focus on sustainable energy technology.

Her research interests are:

  • Grid integration of renewable energies with focus on PV
  • Building Integrated PV (BIPV)
  • Data-driven and AI supported energy management
  • Model-driven optimization of buildings and districts energy systems
  • Data-driven forecasting of electrical load
  • Physics based and AI based PV generation forecast
  • Demand-side management
  • Optimize battery applications
  • Decision support for grid operators
  • Sustainable energy technologies

She is always looking for motivated students, especially quantitative and creative ones who are not afraid to do something totally new.

(Currently there are some interesting projects in my group regarding sustainable energy systems, please feel free to send me an email)

She is open to collaborate with internal and external researchers, just send her an email at e.shirazi@utwente.nl to discuss any collaboration opportunity!
