Dr. Elke Warmerdam is a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Twente in the Biomedical Signals and Systems group. She has a background in Human Movement Sciences and is working in the field of eHealth technology. She focusses on (remote) patient monitoring, personalised treatment and lifestyle interventions.
She is currently working in two projects, LoaD and Healthbox. LoaD focuses on the optimal physical activity and knee joint loading for knee osteoarthritis patients. Within the project Elke is working on the development of the eHealth tool that collects physical activity data, provides personalised support and recommendations and improves self-management. In the Healthbox project an eHealth tool is being developed that provides personalised coaching and support to live a healthier lifestyle. The project specifically focuses on people with metabolic syndrome and a lower socio-economic background. Within this project Elke is working on the content of the lifestyle intervention.
