My research focus is on improving the understanding of the female pelvic floor (problems). By automatic image analysis we can extract useful information from pelvic floor ultrasound and MRI images and study large patient populations. This image information we can use as input for more personalized biomechanical pelvic floor analysis (for example for a personalized finite element model). This will broaden our understanding of the pelvic floor and improve patient treatement.
