About Me

Giancarlo Guizzardi has been active for more than two decades in the areas of Conceptual Modeling, Knowledge Representation, Software and Information Systems Engineering, and Enterprise Semantics working with a multi-disciplinary approach that combines results from Formal Ontology, Cognitive Science, Logics, and Linguistics. He has authored circa 300 peer-reviewed publications, which received more than a dozen international awards (e.g., CAISE 2004; ER 2015, 2018, 2019; IEEE EDOC 2011, 2013, and the two paper awards of EDOC 2017). Moreover, he has been a keynote speaker in more than two-dozen international events (e.g., ER 2014, BPM 2016). He is currently an associate editor for the Applied Ontology journal and for Data & Knowledge Engineering and a member of a number of international journal editorial boards. Finally, he is a member of the ER Steering Committee and of the Advisory Board of the International Association for Ontology and its Applications (IAOA).
