With aĀ foundation in physiotherapy and a passion for education and healthcare innovation, I have built a diverse career spanning clinical practice, higher education, and academic leadership.

After obtaining my degree in physiotherapy, I gained experience by working in private clinics in both Germany and the Netherlands, after which I moved to the USA (Florida) to broaden my professional horizon. In the US I worked at the American Neurological Clinic for Outpatient Rehab (ANCOR) and later for the Polk County School Board, providing specialized care for children with mental and physical challenges.

Upon returning to the Netherlands, I joined the Roessingh Rehabilitation Center in Enschede, initially contributing to pediatric rehabilitation before focusing primarily on the rehabilitation of people with a spinal cord injury and people with central neurological disorders. In 2001, I transitioned (parttime) into higher education, joining Saxion University of Applied Sciences as a lecturer and later on as course director at the Academy for Health, School of Physiotherapy. Alongside my teaching and leadership responsibilities, I played an active role in the European Network of Physiotherapy in Higher Education (ENPHE), serving in various capacities as a facilitator and board member.

Driven by an interest in educational development, I pursued a Masterā€™s in Educational Science & Technology at the University of Twente. In 2016, I joined the University of Twente as a programme manager and later programme director for both the bachelorā€™s and masterā€™s programmes in Health Sciences.

Throughout my career, I have remained committed to create a positive and psychological safe environment for collegaues, patients and students to work, learn and develop.
