Assistant Professor

About Me

Hossein Aghababaei (Ph.D.) is an Assistant Professor at the University of Twente, Faculty of Geo-Information Science and Earth Observation (ITC), Department of Earth Observation Science (EOS), Enschede, the Netherlands. He received his BSc in civil and surveying engineering in 2009, his MSC and Ph.D. degrees in remote sensing in 2012 and 2017. From 2017 to 2019 he was employed as a research fellow at the Department of Engineering, Università di Napoli, Parthenope, Napoli, Italy.

His current research areas include the investigation and the development of synthetic aperture radar (SAR) tomography using multi-baseline multi-temporal airborne/spaceborne data sets. In particular, his research activities are focused on 1) target scattering decomposition in polarimetric and tomographic SAR images, 2) multi-dimensional (3D, 4D, 5D) image reconstruction using SAR and polarimetric SAR tomography and 3) the analysis and development of different polarimetric and tomographic techniques in different applications in forested and urban areas.
