Prof. Dr. habil. Holger Schiele

born 1969, grown up in Brazil and Germany, married, three children, is Diplom-Ɩkonom (Master of Economics and Business Administration). HeĀ has studied in Maastricht and in Hanover, obtaining both, Ph.D. and habilitation in business administration (venia legendi), (ā€œInnovations from and with suppliersā€, 2008), with counted on the support of BME (the German purchasing association), from Leibniz UniversitƤt Hannover.

Besides academia, he has worked for ten years at the strategy department of Preussag AG, as consultant for PricewaterhouseCoopers and as project manager with h&z business consulting. Consulted firms include large corporations such as Shell, Siemens or ThyssenKrupp as well as medium sized firms. Previous to joining the University of Twente in 2009 he was at Jacobs University in Bremen.

Besides publishing two management books (#1 Financial Times list), he wrote numerous, academic papers, which were cited more than a thousand times and appeared in innovation management journals such as Research Policy, R&D Management or Research-Technology Management and purchasing related papers, such as the Journal of Purchasing and Supply Management, Industrial Marketing Management or Journal of Supply Chain Management, among others.

Holger Schiele joins UTIPS ā€“ The University of Twente Initiative of Purchasing Studies (www.utips.eu) and is member of the advisory commission of NLR - Netherlands Aerospace Centre and of the advisory council of AutoUni, Wolfsburg.Ā
