About Me

I am best known for my work in the area of Additive Manufacture or 3D Printing. I have been working in this field for over 25 years; long before it was considered '├žool'. As well as Professor in Design Engineering, I am Scientific Director of the University's Fraunhofer Project Centre in complex systems engineering.

Research

I mainly research into applications of Additive Manufacturing (AM). Work includes medical and architectural applications, design for AM, AM post-processing, multi-material AM and integration of AM with other manufacturing technologies. I am probably best known as co-editor of the Rapid Prototyping Q1 Journal (IF 2.4) and co-author of the Springer "Additive Manufacturing Technologies", which has attracted more than 3200 citations in Google Scholar.
