I am a Ph.D. Candidate in the Semantics, Cybersecurity and Services (SCS) group of the University of Twente.
My research focuses on the analysis of software in a security context. In particular, my main interests lie within the extraction of behavior patterns exhibited by malicious software (malware). I use an approach that combines methods found in the fields of software reverse engineering, formal software verification and compiler theory, and intend to bring malware analysis to a more automated process that is both more scalable and manageable this way. I strongly believe in open source and open science, where researchers and developers can easily gain access to results of previously conducted research, and are welcomed to contribute their own ideas.
Finally, I often play in Capture The Flag (CTF) competitions, and help organize the Twente Hacking Squad, the University of Twente's student hacking team.
