Juan Camilo earned dual B.Sc. degrees in Electronic and Electrical Engineering from Universidad Nacional de Colombia (Colombia) in 2011 and 2012, respectively. He then obtained his M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from Universidade Estadual de São Paulo (UNESP, Brazil) in 2015 and his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Universidade Estadual de Campinas (UNICAMP, Brazil). Currently, he is a postdoctoral researcher at the Energy Group (EEMCS-CAES/MOR) at the University of Twente. His research focuses on developing methodologies for optimizing, planning, monetizing, and controlling power and energy systems, as well as deploying digital twins for industrial microgrids.
