Jan Broenink has a PhD EE and MSc EE & biomedical degrees both from the University of Twente. Jan’s research interests are Cyber-Physical Systems, Systems Engineering, Robot Software Archirectures & Tools Development for this, Simulation, Co-Simulation, Parallel Software based on CSP. For that, he is interested in: model-driven design and meta-modeling of robot software architectures; designing software tools including (co)-simulation; concurrent and systems engineering. From 2017 to 2021, he has been chairman of the Robotics and Mechatronics group, together with Stefano Stramigioli.

Jan’s teaching work is on Robot Software Design using Model-Driven approaches, Systems Engineering, and using the latter in methods for conducting and supervising MSc / BSc final projects.

Since July 2021 he is programme director of the MSc programme Robotics. Since December 2022 he is also programme director Systems and Control.
