I am focusing on two lines of research. Firstly, my focus is on the impact of the mediation process on parties. My expertise lies in the impact of mediation in criminal cases on offenders.

In addition, based on my PhD research, I am further exploring the societal anchoring of restorative justice. There is still much to be gained regarding the application of restorative justice. How can we ensure that restorative justice is more widely embraced? What role does public opinion and the community play in the application of restorative justice? How open is the public to actively participate in restorative justice based programs? How can we ensure that professionals guide the way towards restorative justice?
