Juliane Schillinger recently finished her PhD 'Untangling the complexity of local water management during armed conflict' with the Section of Governance and Technology for Sustainability at the University of Twente on the Netherlands. Her expertise includes issues of water management and climate adaptation in fragile and conflict-affected settings, as well as other civilian and environmental impacts of conflict, with a geographic focus on the Middle East. Her transdisciplinary research commonly includes work with humanitarian organizations, government actors, and civil society.

Next to her PhD, Juliane holds an M.Sc. in International Land and Water Management from Wageningen University in the Netherlands, and a B.Sc. in Environmental Sciences and Ecohydrology from Freiburg University in Germany.
