My research explores how surfaces and interfaces can be engineered to create stronger, smarter, and more sustainable materials and systems.

My work spans three main themes:

  • Adhesives and bonding: advancing interface engineering and adhesive science for reliable adhesion and bonding, including metals, composites, and coating structures.
  • Polymer tribology: investigating friction, wear, microplastic formation, and scratching of polymeric coatings, and developing solutions for cleaner, longer-lasting systems.
  • Functional surfaces: designing non-stick, drag-reducing, and corrosion-resistant surfaces inspired by nature and advanced manufacturing.
