As an external professor, I hold the chair in Work Design for Continuous Learning & Innovation within the Professional Learning and Technology (PLT) section at the University of Twente. I combine this appointment with my role as a senior scientist Future of Work at TNO.
I aim to transform work and workplaces in ways that foster innovation, continuous learning and productivity, thereby contributing to a future-proof workforce. My research examines how (technological) innovations reshape work and, conversely, how changes at work enable or constrain people’s ability to actively shape the future of work –in ways that benefit both workers and organizations.
I lead and co-lead several major multidisciplinary research projects in this field, including AUGMENT, Smart Skills @Scale, van Krapte naar Kans and Veerkracht in een veranderende arbeidsmarkt. I have received multiple awards and grants for this work, and my research is regularly published in leading scientific journals.
