J.G.S. Alshnaikat (Joman)

I'm Joman alshnaikat, a PhD candidate in the Department of Natural Resources at ITC, the University of Twente. I’m originally from Jordan, where I completed both my B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Horticulture and Crop Science at the University of Jordan, graduating with distinction and first-class honors, ranking second in my cohort. 

My Master's thesis focused on Postharvest Treatments to Extend the Shelf Life and Maintain the Quality of Pomegranate Fruits during Storage.

The University of Jordan has nominated me for a PhD sponsorship in collaboration with the University of Twente, and is pleased to support me in pursuing a PhD in Smart Agriculture, with a focus on Vegetable Production, under the supervision of Dr. Roshanak Darvishzadeh, who kindly offered this opportunity. Upon completing my PhD, I am expected to join the University of Jordan as a faculty member.

In addition to my academic journey, I am the founder of agropearla.com an Arabic-language agricultural platform that brings together over 50 agricultural content creators from across the Arab world. The platform aims to make scientific and practical agricultural knowledge accessible to Arabic-speaking farmers, students, and professionals.

I am passionate about sustainable agriculture, smart farming technologies, water stress, and enhancing plants growth conditions through research and knowledge sharing.
