About Me
Kars Otten is a signature PhD candidate at the University of Twente, working together with the department of Communication Science and at the department of Psychology, Health and Technology.
He investigates which specific features of virtual nature elicit storytelling and what features of storytelling are being elicited in older adults. In doing so he aims to develop virtual nature technology that promotes storytelling, to be used in e.g. retirement or nursing homes, which improves social connectedness among older adults.
Because this interdisciplinary project requires both virtual nature technology and storytelling technology, both the BMS lab and the Story lab are involved.
