dr. L.E.I. Breymann (Ingrid)

I am a computer scientist and did PhD research in the area of artificial intelligence (non-monotone logic). I then worked some years as post-doc and assistant professor at the computer science department of the University of Twente. Later, I advised schools about integrating ICT at school and offered trainings for teachers.

I have a lot of experience as a project manager of various projects about innovation at schools (see 'projects').

My main responsibilities at the University of Twente in the department of teacher education (ELAN) are pre- and in-service education of computer science teachers. I try to enthuse students for computer science at school and to make the subject interesting for pupils with different backgrounds and interests. This will – among others - be possible by developing new and innovative course material for the  new examination program for computer science at school.

Courses academic year 2022/2023

As a project manager  I have been working on various projects about innovation at schools such as Bètasteunpunt Oost, InnovatieImpulsOnderwijs – Videolessen, Twente’s got Talent, Begeleiding Startende Leraren, Inf4all and Co-Teach Informatica.

Within the project Begeleiding Startende Leraren we work together with almost all schools in our region. We help them implement programs to support the development of teachers at the beginning of their careers. In 'JUMPSTART' (zie ELAN brochure Umpstart) some results from our region are published. 

Within the project Inf4all we work on programs to make teacher education more accessible for a bigger group of candidates.

The project Co-Teach Informatica facilitates highschools to teach computer science even if they have no computer science teacher.
