About Me
As a professor in Health Systems Engineering, Misja Mikkers focuses on optimizing the dynamics of healthcare delivery systems. This multidisciplinary field integrates principles from engineering, economics, and healthcare policy to improve healthcare services.
Misja's research interests encompass health economics, the theory of incentives and regulation, and causal inference using Bayesian statistics.
Before joining the University of Twente, Misja worked as the chief economist at the Dutch Healthcare Authority (NZa) and as a professor in Organization and financing of the health care sector at Tilburg University.
