Miguel Vidal is currently a PhD student of Physics Engineering, working at i3N, Physics Department of University of Aveiro, in collaboration with the Dublin City University and the BIOS Lab-on-a-Chip group from the University of Twente. Concluded his Integrated Masters degree in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Aveiro in 2021. Afterwards, worked as a research fellow at i3N aiming the simulation and development of optical fiber biosensors for the detection of medical biomarkers with relevance to heart failure for routine monitoring of patients. His main research interests include optical fiber technology, colorimetric assays, wearable and point-of-care devices for biosensing purposes and monitoring physiological biosignals.
